The image processing unit will be composed of members of the University of Milan (Università degli studi di Milano), employed in the Department of Computer Science (Dipartimento di Informatica):
UniMi unit has a tradition in the study of face detection and recognition systems. In this framework we proposed: a facial feature detector based on Support Vector Machine, called EML, a precise facial landmark locator, and several face recognition system, either based on local or holistic features. Current research programs involve the computational modelling and understanding of human identity and behaviors including facial expressions and body gestures.
